Prof. Asokan R from Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences served as a resource person and presented the title “Role of Nursing Autonomy and Essentiality of Nursing Empowerment in the Field of HPB Surgery” in the Pre-Conference CME on Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Nursing held at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on February 23, 2024, was a significant event in advancing nursing practices in the field and shed light on crucial aspects. He highlighted the complexity of patient care, emphasized the pivotal role of nursing autonomy, and underscored the essentiality of nursing empowerment for professional development. Challenges in HPB nursing practices were addressed, along with strategies for fostering autonomy and empowerment. The session also discussed successful implementation methods and ways to overcome barriers to empowerment, contributing to the enhancement of HPB nursing standards.
