The Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), a constituent of KIIT-Deemed-to-be-University, hosted the highly anticipated “KADODE” Welcome Ceremony on 14th November 2025 in the KIMS Auditorium. This ceremony marked the official induction of the new M.Sc, B.Sc, and GNM nursing students into the esteemed nursing community.
KADODE is an energetic and vibrant theme that symbolizes new beginnings, creativity, and togetherness. It reflects the spirit of welcoming freshers with warmth, fun, and positivity. The name represents growth, enthusiasm, and stepping confidently into a new journey.
The programcommenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by distinguished dignitaries, including the Dr.(Prof.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS,Dr.Ajit KumarMohanty, DirectorGeneral, KIMS, AVM Prof. R.C. Das, Dean & Principal, KIMS,Dr.(Prof) ManasRanjanBehera, Medical Superintendent, PBMH, KIMS and Mrs. GitanjaliMohanta, Nursing Superintendent, PBMH, KIMS. The second year students of KINS welcomed the dignitarieswith a beautiful song.The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome by the Dr.(Prof.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS, who emphasized the noble role of nurses in society and encouraged the students to approach their studies with dedication and compassion. She further emphasized the institution’s commitment for providing world-class education, ensuring the students that they would receive full support in their academic endeavours.
Mrs. GitanjaliMohanta, Nursing Superintendent, PBMH, KIMS shared her thoughts regardinga strong hospital-based learning environment and assured the students that they would receive full support, clinical exposure, and guidance throughout their academic and professional journey.
Dr.(Prof) ManasRanjanBehera, Medical Superintendent, PBMH, KIMS has given the idea regarding the infrastructure of KIMS and how the students can learn and experience the different advance procedures from the hospital.
Dr.Ajit KumarMohanty, Director General, KIMS, addressed the gathering and welcomed the students. He motivated the students and emphasized the trends and demands of the nursing profession and its expanded roles.
AVM Prof. R.C. Das, Dean & Principal, KIMS, KIIT-DU, shared his views about nursing skills and importance of the nursing profession and congratulated the newly joined students for choosing KIIT- DU.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanksby Prof.KalyaniRath, Vice-Principal of KINS, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and parents, and extended best wishes to the students as they embarked on their nursing journey.
On the Occasion, Mr. Fresher award was given to Mr. Samim Khan, M. sc. (N) 1st year, Mr. SK Anwar Raheman, B. Sc.(N) 1st year, Mr. Subhransu Das, GNM 1st year, and Miss fresher award was given to Ms. NimishaMaity, MSc 1st Year, Ms. Nibedita Das, B. sc.(N) 1st year and Ms. SubhraSwpnaSethi, GNM 1st yr.
The event symbolised the beginning of the students’ professional paths and was a celebration of their commitment to the nursing profession, embodying values of care, compassion, and service.
