With the theme of Designing Thoughts Nurturing Innovation School level FDP started from 27th June followed by University level orientation on 26th june 2023. On Day 2(27th June’2023) session 1 was started with a talk by Prof.(Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences in conference room at 9.30 am. In her talk on “Outcome Based Education” She highlighted outcome based educational delivery model, vision & mission of university as well as school(KINS), Program educational objectives (PEOs) of different programs like M.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Nursing, Process of Information/Revision of PEO, Mapping of PEO and mission of school.

In the session 2 (11 am – 1.30 pm), Prof. Kalyani Rath, Vice-Principal, KINS emphasized on continuous improvement of program, its purpose, PDCA model, Role of Internal stakeholder and External stakeholder, feedback of stakeholders from teacher, students, alumni, parent and patient feedback, curriculum revision, enhancement of pedagogy in Nursing education, learning theory pyramid, Innovation in nursing education and assessment method.The session was witnessed a good interaction with faculties with speaker.

In the session 3(3.30 pm – 5.30 pm), Prof. Dipti Ranjan Biswal, Dy Director, National Accreditation discussed elaborately on framework of outcome based education, Program educational objectives, course outcomes, Bloom’s learning level, Mapping of course outcome and program outcome, course outcome attainment and program outcome attainment both direct and indirect method by citing suitable examples. At the end, there was a good interactive session with the speaker.On 28th June (Day 3),session 1(9 am – 10.30 am) was taken by Prof. Satya Ranjan Jena, Assistant Professor, School of Electrical Engineering. He started the session with practice of  of direct PO attainment by taking program outcome of specific program among faculties, highlighted on rubrics for attainment of Program outcomes, Direct PO attainment with its calculation. It was ended with a good interaction of  KINS faculties with the speaker.

Session 2 (11 am – 1.30 pm), Prof. (Dr.) Anusaya Pattanayak, HOD, Community Health Nursing, KINS presented talk on “Workshop on Continuous Improvement(Course level and Program level). She emphasized on importance of continuous improvement in nursing, its aim and aspect, improvement strategies, Kaizent event, types of workshop, selection of case for workshop and evaluation of workshop. At the end after clearing doubts of faculties she concluded the session with giving a assignment for the audience.

In session 3 (3.30 pm – 5.30 pm), insightful talk was presented by Prof.Siddharth Swarup Routaray, School of Computer Sciences, KIIT DU in KINS conference room. He discussed on Indirect assessment in detail by key emphasizing on outcome based education, its framework, outcome based learning structure, learning outcomes, process of indirect PO attainment. At the end, a good interaction was carried out by KINS faculties with the speaker.

On 29th June (Day 4),session 1(9 am – 10.30 am) was taken by Prof. Samaresh Mishra, Director, Student Affairs, KIIT deemed to be University. He started the session with discussion of  of “Process of designing an Outcome Based Curriculum” with highlighting on approach to design outcome based learning, different levels of outcomes, program outcomes, bloom’s learning level, design curriculum. At the end, he provided certain valuable suggestion in modifying our PEOs.

In session 2 (11 am – 1.30 pm) Dr.Rahul Modak, Associate Professor, School of Biotechnology, KIIT deemed to be University started the activity based session on Attainment of Programme Outcome. He emphasized on guidelines for preparing CO of a course, rubrics for attainment of CO, process of CO attainment citing suitable examples. He diligently answered all questions put by KINS faculties an the end.

In session 3(3.30 pm – 5.30 pm), Mrs Reena Singh, Asst. Prof.,Mental Health Nursing dept, KINS discussed in detail on Examination planning like venue and facility for examination, exam time table, examination material, technology and infrastructure, post examination procedure, rules for examination, grading and scoring system. Mrs Sanjukta Dixit, Asst. Prof.,Mental Health Nursing dept, KINS continued the session with highlighting on Mapping of CO, PO and PI with the question, developing quality question paper: process and implementation. The session concluded with a good interaction with all the participants.

On 30th June (Day 5),session 1(9 am – 10.30 am) was taken by Prof.Asokan R, I/C of R&D, KINS KIIT deemed to be University. He went on discussing about Enhancement of Teaching and Learning Methodology with key emphasizing on  current challenges in nursing education, best practices in teaching and learning methodology, implementing effective assessment strategies and addressing faculty development.

FDP was successfully ended with a valedictory session at convention center.
