With the aim to upgrade the knowledge of nursing students regarding nursing care Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), KIIT-DU organized two days seminar on “Nursing Process ” on 9 th July & 10 th july 2024 at KIDS auditorium from 2pm to 5pm . The session started with a keynote address by Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS,KIIT,DU. She highlighted on the overall nursing process and encouraged the 1st year nursing students to apply the same in their clinical setting for quality nursing care.

The first talk on “Introduction to nursing process” was presented by Ms. Rojalin Dash, Asst. Prof. KINS, KIIT, DU. She focused on overview of nursing process, it's purposes, components and characteristics.

In her talk on “Nursing Assessment ” Ms.Smruti Rekha Das, Tutor, KINS discussed the concept and technique of assessment, physical assessment of patients . She also emphasize on various methods of collecting subjective & objective data. Ms. Sushree Manisha Priyadarsini, Tutor, KINS delivered her talk on “Nursing Diagnosis” in which she discussed various types of nursing diagnosis by citing suitable examples. Third session “Planning ” delivered by Ms. Rajashree Bhol, Tutor, KINS who focused on the steps of framing nursing care plan. Mr. Shivaji Ranjan Lenka, Tutor, KINS delivered his talk on “Implementation” and focused on the intervention part of nursing process in which he stressed on the purposes, characteristics, types, process and skills required for a nurse to perform the task .

The last session “Evaluation” was taken by Mrs. Pritilagna Das, Tutor, KINS, where she emphasized on the objectives of evaluation in nursing process. It was a very interactive session where the speakers clarified all the queries of the students by quoting suitable examples. Followed by which a post test session was done to evaluate the effectiveness of the seminar. All 1st year students of B.Sc Nsg. (2 nd Sem), GNM and faculty members of KINS attended this seminar. It was coordinated by the seminar organizing committee of KINS and anchored by Mrs. Durgesh Nandini Lenka and Ms.Smruti Rekha Das , Tutor, KINS.

The program successfully ended with vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Swagata Sahoo,Tutor, KINS. Around 170 participants were participated in this seminar.
