Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), KIIT Deemed to be University organized a National conference on 8th July,2023 on the theme “Emerging Technologies and Challenges in Nursing Education and Practices” at KIMS auditorium.

The Inaugural session of conference was graced by esteemed guests Prof.(Dr.) Sabita Acharya,Vice -Chancellor, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar,Dr. Ramachandra Rout, Nursing Director, Bhubaneswar, Odisha,Prof.(Dr.) C.B.K Mohanty, Pro Vice-Chancellor, School of Medicine, (KIMS, KIDS, KINS) Bhubaneswar

Convener of conference Prof.(Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS, KIIT DU delivered the welcome address while organizing secretary Prof.(Dr.) Anasuya Pattanayak,HOD, Community Health Nursing, KINS provided the keynote address. Release of a conference souvenir was done by esteemed dignitaries. This session was concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Co-Convener Prof. Kalyani Rath, Vice Principal, KINS.

In scientific session I (11.15am – 12.15pm), Dr.Rajini Peter,Professor & Principal, AIIMS, College of Nursing, Nagpur made a presentation on Collaborative & Experiential learning” which was moderated by Prof. Sasmita Das Associate Dean, SUM Nursing College , SOA Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar

Scientific Session: II(12.15pm – 1.15pm) on “Artificial Intelligence in Transforming the Future Nursing” is discussed by Dr. L. Gopichandran, Associate Professor, College of Nursing, AIIMS, New Delhi and Prof. Asokan R , I/C, R & D ,HOD, Medical Surgical Nursing, KINS, KIIT DU moderated the session. After the lunch break, a scientific paper presentation started at 1.30 pm -2.30 pm which was evaluated by Asst. Prof.(Dr.)Sikandar Kumar, HOD, Psychiatric Nursing, MHI, SCB, MCH, Cuttack and Dr.Pravati Tripathy, Dean, SUM Nursing College, SOA Deemed to be University.

In her speech, Asso. Prof.(Dr.)Manju Dandapani, National Institute of Nursing Education, PGIMER, Chandigarh emphasized on “Application of Theory to Strengthen the Nursing Profession” in Scientific Session: III (2.30 pm – 3.30 pm). This session was moderated by Prof. Kalyani Rath, Vice Principal, KINS,KIIT,DU. Scientific Session – IV on “Advocacy & Leadership in Nursing: Opportunities & Challenges” was highlighted by Dr. Nancy Fernandes Pereira, Principal,LT College of Nursing, SNDT, Women’s University, Mumbai and moderated by Prof. N. Premalata Devi,HOD OB & G Nursing,Vice Principal,DRIEMS School & College of Nursing, Cuttack

The valedictory session started with a lamp lighting and made witnesses the footfalls of  AVM Prof.(Dr.) Ram Chandra Das, MS, KIMS, Brig. Prof.(Dr.) Ambika Prasad Mohanty, Principal, KIMS. Co-Organizing Secretary Prof.Asokan R, I/C, R & D, HOD, Medical Surgical Nursing presented the the report of the conference. Certificates were distributed to all the participants and delegates.The conference was evaluated by a pre-test and post-test and feedback was collected from participants. Around 550 participants, consisting of nursing students, faculties from twenty three different Nursing colleges of Odisha, Ranchi, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Noida attended the conference.Dr. Anasuya Pattanayak, Professor, HOD, Community Health Nursing concluded the valedictory session with a word of appreciation.
