The Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), KIIT Deemed to be University, successfully hosted its 11th National Conference on 11th October 2025 at the KIMS Auditorium. The theme, “Fostering Research Excellence: Catalyst for Professional Advancement,” set the tone for an intellectually stimulating and inspiring day of academic engagement. Organized in hybrid mode, the conference united a dynamic blend of researchers, innovators, academicians, doctoral scholars, and nursing students from across the country, creating a vibrant forum for knowledge exchange, scholarly collaboration, and professional networking.
The inaugural scientific session was led by Dr. Upasana Ghosh, Associate Professor, IAPH, Bhubaneswar, whose compelling talk on Advancing evidence through experimental design highlighted the value of methodological precision and reproducibility in research. Dr. Hepsi Joseph Bai, Assistant Professor at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, moderated the session with notable professionalism. This was followed by an illuminating presentation by Dr. Pratap Jena, Professor, KSPH, KIIT-DU, who emphasized the Development of standardized research tools and the importance of reliability testing in quantitative studies. The session was expertly moderated by Dr. Sinmayee Devi, Principal, Lord Jagannath Mission’s College of Nursing, Bhubaneswar. Third session featured Prof. Hrudaya Kumar Tripathy, School of Computer Science, KIIT-DU, who explored the Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in nursing research. His presentation captivated the audience with real- world examples of how emerging technologies are transforming healthcare through predictive analytics and smarter clinical decisions. Dr. Ritanjali Sahoo, Principal, Aswini College of Nursing, Cuttack, moderated this session.
Post lunch Dr. Harmeet Kaur Kang, Director and Principal, Department of Nursing, Chitkara University, Punjab, orated on Comprehensive session on manuscript preparation for publication. She shared invaluable insights on scientific writing, journal selection, and navigating the peer-review process. Dr. Pratima Prakashan, Dean, DRIEMS School of Nursing, Cuttack, moderated the session with elegance and efficiency.
A highlight of the conference was the scientific paper presentation segment, where selected participants showcased their innovative research works. The presentations fostered constructive academic dialogue, encouraging critical appraisal and peer learning among emerging and seasoned scholars alike.
The concluding session commenced at 4:00 PM with a warm welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Convener and Principal, KINS. She emphasized the pivotal role of research in advancing healthcare education and evidence-based practice. Esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Harmeet Kaur Kang and Dr. Ashok Kumar Sahoo, Professor and Director R&D (Tech), School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT-DU, delivered thought-provoking speeches on innovation, research methodology, and scientific integrity in healthcare. Dr. Amlan Panda, Asst. Registrar (R &D) KIIT DU was present & also thanked the organizers for conducting the event. The ceremony featured the release of the e-souvenir, followed by the felicitation of distinguished guests for their exemplary contributions. Mr. Chandan Pradhan, Organizing Secretary and Associate Professor, KINS, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all speakers, participants, and organizing members for making the event a resounding success.
