KINS MSc Nursing 2nd year Child Health Nursing students participated in NEOCON 2025 on 21st September 2025 at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. This 12th Annual Conference of the National Neonatology Forum (NNF) Odisha State Branch was organized in collaboration with UNICEF, NHM Odisha and the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Odisha. The event followed a pre-conference workshop on Critical child health nursing care on 20th September held at seminar hall, Block E, KIMS. Throughout the conference, emphasis was placed on low-cost interventions, early respiratory management, antibiotic stewardship, RSV prophylaxis, neuroprotection in preterm infants and optimal nutrition for very-low-birth-weight babies. In scientific paper presentation session, our three child health nursing specialty students of MSc Nursing 2nd year presented oral research paper which was critically evaluated and much appreciated by the expert evaluators and finally secured position. 1st prize secured by Alonkrita Bose, KINS for the study, “Synergistic Express Breast milk plus 25% Dextrose vs 25% Dextrose in pain management of ROP – A RCT.” 2nd prize secured by Soumili Setua, KINS for the study of “ Assessment of Neonatal Skin condition of Healthy Latepreterm and Term Neonates in OPD.” 3rd prize secured by Samiskhya Paria, KINS for the study,” Assessment of Music Therapy in Pain Management in different gestational age Neonates – A RCT.” These research studies were guided by Prof.(Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal KINS, Asso. Prof. Purnima Sahoo, KINS and Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda, Neonatologist, KIMS.
