A seminar on Nursing Process was conducted at the Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), KIIT Deemed to be University, on 20th and 21st April 2026 at LT-01, Campus-5, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The seminar aimed to enhance the knowledge and clinical skills of nursing students regarding the systematic approach to patient care.

The program commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony followed by a welcome address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal of KINS. The sessions were conducted by experienced faculty members who elaborated on the five essential steps of the nursing process. Mrs. DurgeshNandiniLenkaintroduced the concept of the nursing process, emphasizing its importance in delivering quality patient care. Ms. SaritaMarandi explained the assessment phase, focusing on data collection and patient evaluation. Ms. SmrutiPragyanSahoo discussed nursing diagnosis, highlighting problem identification.

On the second day, Mrs. SradanjaliNayakpresented the planning phase, explaining goal setting and care planning. Mrs. BishnupriyaLenka discussed implementation, focusing on executing nursing interventions effectively. The final session on evaluation and care plan writing was delivered by Mrs. DebashreeKar, emphasizing outcome assessment. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. DebajaniSahoo.

The seminar was evaluated by Prof. Asokan R, HOD of Medical Surgical Nursing and R&D Cell Incharge, and Dr. SoumyaSonalika, Associate Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing. They appreciated the organization, clarity of presentations, and active participation of students. They suggested including more case-based learning and interactive activities for further improvement.

Overall, the seminar was informative and enhanced students’ understanding of the nursing process and its practical application in clinical settings.
