Human Right Day is celebrated every year on 10th Dec to commemorate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which was adopted and proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1948 as the shared standard yardstick to protect human rights across the globe. The theme for Human Rights Day 2024, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now”, highlights the continued relevance of human rights in addressing global challenges.
The Department of Mental health Nursing, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), a constituent under KIIT-DU,arranged a spot painting program and guest talk to celebrated Human Right Day,2024 on 10th Dec 2024 at KIDS Auditorium, with the theme “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now“.
The program was inaugurated by dignitaries with lamp lighting which symbolizes divinity and harmony. Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sivasankari V, HOD of dept. MHN,,KINS, KIIT-DU,Bhubaneswar,who unfolded the theme of the program and to created an enthusiasm among the audience and then Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal cum HOD of dept. CHN, KINS, KIIT-DU,addressed the highlight of the program which is apprised the students.The special talk was delivered by Mr. Shashank Nande, Asst. Prof. , School Of Law, KIIT-DU, Bhubaneswar. He imparted & highlighted the knowledge regarding the basic information of human right day celebration and its importance in mental health services among students. The theme inspires us to create a world where everyone’s rights are respected, regardless of race, gender, religion, or economic status..For easy understanding about the theme of this program a role play was conducted by GNM 2nd year students of KINS,KIIT-DU and then the program was completed under the valuable guidance of Asst. Prof. Debajani Sahoo, KINS, KIIT-DU and then the program was successfully ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Reena Singh, Asso. Prof.(Mental Health Nursing) KINS.
