On 18March 2026,A guest lecture on the topic “Sample Size Calculation” was conducted at LT 4 by Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences, KIIT‑DU, Bhubaneswar.
The session was organized for the benefit of M.Sc. Nursing 1st year and 2nd year students, along with B.Sc. Nursing 7th semester students.The program began with a welcome address byProf. Asokan R ,HOD , dept Of Medical Surgical Nursing, R&D Cell, KINSwho emphasized the importance of accurate sample size determination in scientific studies.
The guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Subhadra Priyadarshini from the R&D Cell, KIMS. She provided an in-depth explanation of sample size calculation, covering its significance in research, various methods of calculation, and factors influencing sample size such as study design, population variability, and level of precision. The session was highly informative and interactive, enabling students to gain a clear understanding of the concepts and their practical applications.
The guest speaker was felicitated by Dr. Niyati Das, Principal of KINS, who appreciated the session, followed by a vote of thanks by Mrs. Sinthia Dalal,Tutor, Mental Health Nursing Dept, KINS, expressing gratitude to all for its success.
Overall, the guest lecture was informative and enhanced student’s knowledge and application of sample size calculation.
