The MSc Nursing 1st and 2nd year students of the MSN Department participated in the 2nd National Conference themed “Caring Beyond Boundaries: Innovations & Excellence in Adult Health Nursing”, held on 06 February 2026. The conference was organized by the GITAM Institute of Nursing, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

The conference provided an excellent platform for students to gain exposure to recent innovations, evidence-based practices, and advancements in Adult Health Nursing through expert lectures, scientific sessions, and research presentations.

Notably, Ms. Deyasinee Paul, MSc Nursing 2nd year student, secured the 3rd Prize in the Research poster presentation category. The poster presentation was carried out under the guidance of Prof.Asokan R, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This achievement reflects the student’s academic excellence, research aptitude, and the quality of mentorship provided.

The 2ndNational Conference featured a series of insightful plenary and scientific sessions delivered by eminent experts in the field of nursing and healthcare.The conference commenced with plenary session on “Transforming Adult Health Nursing: Futuristic trends and challenges” delivered by Dr. L. Anand, Associate Professor, College of Nursing, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. The session highlighted emerging trends, innovations, and evolving challenges in adult health nursing practice.

This was followed by an engaging Panel discussion on “The art of ageing”, where distinguished experts including Dr.VidyaViswanadh, Dr. M. Satyavalli, Sr. HanifeMacGamwell, Dr. V. Gowtham, and Dr. G. Sravani deliberated on significant topics such as the role of family and caregivers in palliative care, healthy ageing through nutrition and lifestyle, active ageing, pain and symptom management in the elderly, and translating geriatric knowledge from textbook to bedside care.Further plenary sessions included: “Cardiac emergencies in critical care: strategies for improved patient outcomes”by Dr. A. Seethalakshmi, Sriramachandra Faculty of Nursing, Chennai, “Enhanced recovery Post-surgery – A Nurse’s perspective” by Dr. B. Valli,“Pioneering compassionate palliative care in cancer management for Nurses”by Sr. HanifeMacGamwell.

The conference also conducted concurrent sessions of Paper and Poster presentations, providing a platform for research dissemination. The event concluded with hands-on skill training sessions, including 1.Rapid response simulation: Head injury assessment and intervention and 2.Rapid response to thoracic emergencies.

Overall, the sessions enriched participants with updated clinical knowledge, practical skills, and evidence-based approaches in adult health and geriatric nursing care.The participation and recognition received at this national level conference have enhanced the academic and research competencies of the students and contributed to the professional growth of both students and faculty.
