A one – day seminar on “Infection control in clinical setting” was organized by Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences, KIIT-DU, BBSR-24 on 5th April, 2025 from 02.00pm. to 4.00pm. for the B.Sc (N) 1st semester and GNM 1st year students.The objectives of the seminar was to prevent the spread of infections, protect patients and healthcare workers and ensure a safe environment for all thought implementing standard precaution,understanding modes of transmission,and practising effective hygiene and sterilization techniques.
The workshop was initiated with the lamp lighting and then welcome address by Prof. Dr. Niyati Das, Principal & HOD of Child Health Nursing, KINS, KIIT-DU. In the opening session was initiated by DR. KRISHNA MISHRA, ASST. PROF, DEPT OF COMMUNITY MEDICINE KIMS,BBSR spoke about the topic “BIOMEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT” highlighting with some key elements like how to protect human health and the environment by ensuring safe and responsible handling , treatment and disposal of potentiality hazardous materials generated in healthcare settings. In the second session was explained by MRS. RASMITA KHANDAI,ICN,PBMH,BBSR and she spoke about the topic “UNIVERSAL PRECAUTION”. She shared her knowledge that how to prevent the transmission of blood borne and other infectious diseases by treating all human blood and certain body fluid as potentially infectious.
After all the sessions, felicitation to the guest done by Mrs. Reena Singh, Associate Professor, Ms. Rojalin Dash, Assistant Professor, Ms. Rajashree Bhol, Tutor & Mrs. Durgesh Nandini Lenka, Tutor KINS. Vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Pritilagna Dash, Tutor, KINS, KIIT-DU. At last the seminar was end with a great success, satisfaction and advancement in knowledge.
